Sex Education drive & AIDS Awareness Program @ Manjunatha College, Dombivli

GGUS Foundation, in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club, organized a comprehensive Sex Education Drive and AIDS Awareness Program for the students of Manjunatha College. The initiative aimed to educate young minds on the importance of sexual health, safe practices, and the prevention of HIV/AIDS. Through interactive sessions, expert talks, and engaging activities, students gained valuable insights into topics often considered taboo, helping to break stigma and encourage open conversations. The program emphasized the significance of early awareness and responsible behavior, empowering students to make informed choices and contribute to a healthier, more informed society.

Sex education is incredibly important because it provides individuals—especially young people—with accurate, age-appropriate, and comprehensive information about their bodies, relationships, and reproductive health. It helps students understand physical and emotional changes during puberty, the importance of consent, safe sexual practices, and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS. Beyond biology, sex education fosters respect, responsibility, and self-awareness. It empowers individuals to make informed decisions, build healthy relationships, and avoid risky behavior. It also plays a crucial role in reducing stigma around topics like menstruation, sexuality, and identity. Ultimately, quality sex education promotes overall well-being, gender equality, and helps create a more open, respectful, and inclusive society.
