Mental Awareness Session @ NSS Camp Manjunatha College
At the NSS camp of Manjunatha College, the GGUS Foundation conducted a highly impactful Mental Health Awareness session aimed at promoting emotional well-being among students and volunteers. The session focused on understanding the importance of mental health, recognizing signs of stress, anxiety, and depression, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Experts from the foundation led interactive discussions and activities that encouraged self-expression, mindfulness, and open dialogue. Practical tips on managing stress, building resilience, and seeking help when needed were shared, empowering students to prioritize their mental well-being. The session was well-received and left a lasting impression, fostering a supportive environment and reinforcing the message that mental health is just as important as physical health.
Mental health awareness is extremely important for students, as it directly affects their overall well-being, academic performance, and personal growth. Students often face pressure from studies, social expectations, and future uncertainties, which can lead to stress, anxiety, and emotional struggles. By being aware of mental health, students learn to recognize their emotions, manage stress effectively, and seek help when needed, instead of bottling up their feelings.
Awareness also helps in reducing the stigma around mental health issues, encouraging open conversations and creating a more supportive and understanding environment in schools and colleges. It promotes self-care, resilience, and healthy coping mechanisms, which are essential for handling both academic and personal challenges. Ultimately, mental health awareness empowers students to lead balanced, confident, and fulfilling lives, both inside and outside the classroom.
